It’s that storied time of year again, a time where Summer drifts away only to be replaced by an array of oranges and reds, football and fireside reads. Yep, it’s Fall!
What better way to warm up this season than with a DIY CBD-infused bath bomb?
Bath bombs are the ultimate way to unwind after a long day of cold rain and dreary skies. Not only do bath bombs have anti-inflammatory properties, but nothing screams comfort like warm, aromatic waters steaming from the tub, all from the comfort of your own home. CBD bath bombs are no exception.
Plus, they’re easy to make!
STEP 1: THE DRY INGREDIENTS
To start making your CBD bath bomb, you’re going to need an assortment of dry ingredients. Many of these can be found within your home. You’ll need:
- 1 cup Baking Soda
- ½ cup Cornstarch
- ½ cup Citric Acid
- 1 tablespoon Coffee Grounds
- 1 tablespoon Pumpkin Spice Mix
In a large mixing bowl, stir all your dry ingredients together. Coffee grounds are included in our recipe because they are packed with antioxidants that keep your skin hydrated and glowing! Also, if pumpkin spice isn’t your thing, you can easily substitute any number of spices. My favorite is cinnamon – Just remember not to go overboard.
STEP 2: THE WET SIDE
Now that we’ve got our dry ingredients stirred up, it’s time to mix the wet ingredients. These are:
- A CBD Oil of your choice – We like this one for bath bombs!
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon water
Regarding wet ingredients, we recommend using unrefined, raw coconut oil in order to get the best anti-inflammatory benefits in your bath. We also suggest you choose a CBD oil that fits your needs. Users with chronic pain should shoot for a higher milligram CBD oil while those with little CBD experience should aim for a lower milligram content.
STEP 3: WET MEETS DRY
Now that we’ve created both a wet and dry mixture, it’s time to put them together! Pour your wet mixture over your dry mixture and stir until the consistency turns into a paste. This is how you’ll know you’re getting close to bath bomb perfection!
STEP 4: FLARE UP YOUR CBD BATH BOMB
Now that we’ve gotten the mandatory ingredients out of the way, it’s time to have some fun. For our DIY CBD-infused bath bombs, we added silver and copper glitter, as well as dried calendula flowers because they possess anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial properties – All great things for your skin.
To follow our recipe, add:
- ½ tablespoon Silver Glitter
- ½ tablespoon Copper Glitter
- 1 large pinch Dried Calendula Flowers
However, if you prefer colored bath bombs – because who doesn’t like bathing in bright pink bathwater, right? – you can add 1 tablespoon of soap dye to your mixture.
We DO NOT recommend using standard food coloring because such products can leave pigmentation on your skin.
STEP 5: GET YOUR MOLD ON
If you want to achieve optimal results, bath bomb molds are inexpensive and guarantee that your CBD bath bomb will come out in the PERFECT desired shape.
If a mold is unavailable, you can always substitute a variety of household items, including muffin tins, measuring cups and ice trays.
We prefer our bath bomb molds, however, because we like to keep our bath bombs in a single-serving size. Many household items will yield much smaller results, meaning you’ll need more to get your aromatic CBD bath going!
For this step, simply place your mixture into your mold and let it sit for at least 24 hours.
STEP 6: BATHE
Now for the fun part! Drop your DIY CBD-infused bath bomb into your bathwater and watch as the aromatic pleasures of CBD and other healthy skincare products fizzle throughout the tub.
CBD affects all users differently, but you’ll never know how great CBD could affect you until you’ve tried it for yourself. CBD-infused bath bombs are great way to see just how CBD makes your body and mind feel, and many users have reported great results from these bath bombs!
