CBD Choice Shipping Delays: Everything You Need to Know

As you may already know, Winter Storm Uri continues to wreak havoc across the continental United States. This storm has brought drastically low temperatures combined with an onslaught of snow, ice, and sleet. So far, at least 17 deaths have been reported as a result of the storm. And unfortunately, that’s not the end of the story.
Another storm system, named Winter Storm Viola, begins its trek from Texas to Maine today. Viola is expected to affect the following states.
- Alabama
- Arkansas
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Florida
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
- Maine
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- Michigan
- Mississippi
- Missouri
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New Mexico
- New York
- North Carolina
- Ohio
- Oklahoma
- Pennsylvania
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Vermont
- Virginia
- West Virginia
Is your state on the list? If so, you might be in for some dangerous winter weather over the next few days. But what does this have to do with CBD Choice? These storms – combined with backlogged mail services still recovering from COVID-19 delays – may lead to shipping delays. These delays may be a few days or more.
Our Common-Sense Shipping Policy
Let’s take a moment to review our shipping policies and guidelines. For starters, we at CBD Choice strive to ship all orders on the same day they were ordered. This means that all orders are processed within 1-2 business days (irregularities notwithstanding). However, this DOES NOT mean you will receive your order in 1-2 business days. Please allow for additional days in transit.
We ship using USPS priority flat-rate. We are not liable or responsible for any delivery delays, changes, or accidents. CBD Choice orders ship directly from our warehouses in Orange County, California. Once your order has been processed, you will receive a USPS tracking number.
If you contact our customer service department for tracking information, you will be directed to USPS. We do not have access to tracking information that is not already available to you. We know how important it is for you to receive your CBD products in a timely fashion. However, with two winter storms and a worldwide pandemic, we advise you to expect some delivery delays.
Is Winter Storm Uri Causing Shipping Delays?
Yes, Winter Storm Uri continues to cause shipping delays. These shipping delays mostly affect Texas and Florida. However, icy and otherwise unsafe road conditions may negatively affect your shipments’ timeline, regardless of your location.
Is Winter Storm Viola Going to Cause Shipping Delays?
As Winter Storm Viola begins to develop over Texas and Oklahoma, should we expect significant delays? Yes. Why? Because, if weather reports are to be believed, this storm will bring winter weather to 32 U.S. states.
What kind of weather should you expect over the next few days, depending on your state? Should you expect shipping delays because of weather?
What Kind of Shipping Delays Should You Expect?
Based on current information about both Winter Storms Uri and Viola, you should expect days-long shipping delays. This obviously depends on your location. Some snowy areas – such as New York or Vermont – are more equipped for severe weather patterns than others.
However, you must keep in mind that shipping centers and hubs are also experiencing delays. These delays are not always caused by storms. In fact, some of the biggest LA-based shipping centers in the world are still handling COVID-related delays. This includes many facilities used by USPS, the same carrier that transports CBD Choice orders.
Because of this, we suggest changing your shipping expectations until these interruptions have passed. Here’s what you can do!
Expect Longer Delivery Times
Priority flat-rate packages are supposed to arrive within 1-3 business days after processing. However, we’ve noticed that they now arrive in 5-7 business days. Please wait a full seven days before reaching out to us about late orders.
Don’t Rely 100% on Tracking Numbers
USPS is overwhelmed nationwide. It’s only going to get worse with Winter Storm Viola brewing. Because of this, USPS facilities are not automatically scanning all packages on arrival, which in turn updates your tracking information. If your tracking number hasn’t updated in a few days, don’t worry! Your package is still on the way. We’ve observed that it may take a full 10 days in-transit to arrive if this happens.
Remember that Delivery Dates & Times Are Never “Guaranteed”
If your USPS tracking shows a “guaranteed” delivery date, it does NOT mean you’re guaranteed your package on that date. Sad, but true. Neither CBD Choice nor USPS can be held liable for any packages that arrive after the guaranteed delivery date. You are not entitled to compensation from CBD Choice because of this. We do not guarantee delivery dates precisely for this reason. Furthermore, we cannot stop USPS from guaranteeing your delivery. But any questions regarding your guaranteed delivery times should be directed to USPS, not CBD Choice. As much as we’d like to address your concerns, we do not have control over the situation.
Pennsylvania, We’re Sorry (but You’ve Got It Bad)
If you live in Pennsylvania, we apologize: this is the state we’ve seen with the MOST shipping delays lately. It appears to have started with the 2020 elections. Pennsylvania had a difficult time counting the unprecedented volume of mail-in ballots they received. Shipping delays are likely to get worse here with Winter Storm Viola approaching.
Expect Delays in Non-Weathered States
Winter storms are known to backlog more than just directly-affected states. In fact, more populous states like California, Colorado, and Arizona often see shipping delays as a result of non-local storms. We expect to see something similar with Winter Storm Viola. As shipping hubs begin to shut down due to weather, it tends to have a ripple effect nationwide. Just because you don’t see snow on the ground DOESN’T mean your state isn’t affected by the storm.
CBD Choice: Fully Operational
At CBD Choice, we understand the importance of your health and wellness. Because of this, we are still operating at 100% capacity during the pandemic. We can’t help the weather, and we can’t make USPS ship your packages any faster. However, we can offer a helping hand in these trying times.
